Moving on with life
August 19, 2025
well it has been a whirlwind three weeks! On July 28th Gina and I went out of town to celebrate our 35th wedding anniversary, came back to close on the sale of my farm, which didn’t happen as scheduled. I had to move anything that I had accumulated on the farm that I wanted to keep during a heatwave and work my evening gig too. I finally closed on the property on a Friday evening at 5:02 with some minor hiccups. So the bank was closed and I was stuck with a large check that I could do nothing with it. Then of course a Saturday deposit is considered Mondays work! This just slowed everything down to a slow grind! I just want to move on to what’s next in my life. The sale of the farm was to put my wife and myself in a better position as we get closer to retirement and I just can’t seem to be able to get to the next road marker.

I am excited about my plant importing business! I have decided to continue working within my passion and get more involved with my plant collecting, importing seeds and plants, plant sales, and expanding into some other areas of that realm that I am considering. At this point I am finally all in, and I am in a position to be all in for once.

on a totally different spectrum I am teaching myself about investing in the stock market! Now that is different for me, but I have always been busy taking care of business that I have not prepared for my future, and that future is quickly arriving! I must confess that so far this isn’t overwhelming, they is a lot of moving parts to buying stocks, and I am very much on training wheels. I feel good about where I am, I have had to do my research and listen to some books on the topic to get a solid foundation to build on. I have a managed fund, and I have researched about 15 different stocks which I have decided on three to invest in. Two are mining companies and the other is a foreign EV manufacturer. Yes this is very different for me!

well the funds from the check should finally be released tomorrow and I can get on with things. It has been a busy Summer for sure!
