Going Brazilian

Well, a very nice thing happened to me this past weekend! I was commenting on an image of a guy posing with a really nice Adenium arabicum. Shortly after I receive a WhatsApp group invitation. I get things like this from time to time, usually Facebook group invites, and I usually browse the group and make a decision if it’s something worth being involved with. This group was different, most of these people are Brazilian. In the Adenium world that I am familiar with the top growers are Thai, and Indian, or somewhere in that region of the world. These are mainly Brazilian and they speak Brazilian Portuguese.

As I have mentioned in the past I am really stepping up my game with my Adenium, and not working with my Aroids as much. Don’t get me wrong I still have Philodendron and Anthurium that I am passionate about! I’m really concentrating on building American Adenium, expanding my knowledge and growing skills, so for now Adenium is the name of the game!

Recently acquired Arabicum Adenium

So I am a member of a Brazilian Adenium group that speaks Brazilian Portuguese and I speak….. English. That’s why I really love technology! I have been able to speak with this group of people in their native language without actually knowing it! I have always found a way to adapt to whatever I have decided to do. Sometimes it is awkward and cumbersome, but I find a way!

This is quite a unique opportunity because I am able to be exposed to a whole community of Adenium growers that I was unaware even existed. What’s even better is that they seem to be influenced by one of the greatest Thai Adenium growers. I didn’t know he had a reach into this region of the world. The two just don’t naturally match up, and yet to have that type of influence and reach within this community is brilliant!

I am truly honored and blessed to be a part of this community. I am the first American to be invited into their community and I desire to absorb as much knowledge from these Adenium friends and colleagues.

I have made huge strides to build a growroom that I can grow quality plants in a controlled and monitored space.

I have adapted sensors, and devices and created a unique growing space for my plants. Now that I have most of the pieces, I find this new resource of knowledge just at the right time to put it all together! I feel like I’m on the cusp of something really remarkable! I also really blessed to be where I am currently and I’m excited to be able to offer my plants to the hobby growers of the United States. I desire to be able to offer the rare and unique Adenium found in Thailand and India, without the time and hassle it takes to import such plants. Then having the skill to grow plants not yet adjusted to our climate.

American Adenium cultivates all of the new and old Thai and Indian Adenium hybrids so that you don’t have to be an importer or a botanist, you can be a hobby growers and have an incredible Adenium!

I am really excited for the future of American Adenium is and the plants that I can produce for my community!
